Every season the Club provides an essential service of voluntary lifeguard patrols at Lyall Bay beach.

We need support from the community to ensure we continue this essential service.

Last season we provided over 1,320 hours of voluntary patrol. During the time the Club was patrolling our members were involved in 2 Rescues, 12 First Aid incidents, 1 Search, and over 480 preventative actions involving around 600 people.

The Club currently has the largest number of active lifeguards in the Wellington region, and we consider it essential that these members are provided with opportunities to develop their skills and enhance their interest in surf life saving.

Your support is needed to help maintain the club, cover operational expenses (water, power etc) and purchase the life saving equipment we need.

The equipment we need includes:

  • Junior surf boogie boards $25 each
  • Rescue tubes $100
  • Junior surf soft foam boards $1000 each
  • Paddle Board $1800
  • Ski $2600
  • Tent $5000
  • And if you’re really keen our boaties would like a new boat – a snip at $35000 including the trailer.
Should anyone provide a donation specifically for a purpose recognition will be given for that.

If you would like to make a donation, or are able to sponsor our activities, please:
