The Resource Consent hearing was held this week in mid-June. It is currently adjourned while several queries frm the commissioners are addressed
In response to submissions from the community the blue colour of the tiles has been lightened.
Lyall Bay Surf & Life Saving Club has been providing voluntary lfeguard patrols at Lyall Bay for 100 years. The current building, our 4th, was built in the late 1950s. Since then it has been extensively modified and extended but now no longer meets the needs of modern lifeguard operations. It is too dilapidated to repair or renovate and is in need of replacement. To properly serve the community need for life saving on Lyall Bay beach, the club has been working on buildng a new clubhouse.
The Resource Consent application is for the demolition of the existing Lyall Bay Surf Club Building and No 2 Clubroom Building and the construction of a new building for the use of Lyall Bay Surf Lifesaving Club, including Wellington City Council public toilets on the ground floor level and the re-instatement of two sections of the heritage seawall.
